I had less than stellar feelings about the first two books in this series: Fallen and Torment. I liked them both well enough, but neither pulled me in until the very end. And then they were over and I was left wanting more, even though I hadn't enjoyed them as much as I'd hoped to. Well, surprisingly enough, Passion pulled me in from the beginning and didn't let me go. Luce's quest to discover why she and Daniel are cursed led her to many different eras in which she and Daniel had lived and loved, throughout time. Personally, I loved experiencing all the different lifetimes that Luce and Daniel spent together; they were so much more interesting to me than anything in the previous books had been. In each life, they loved each other so passionately. I'd become so irritated with the Luce of the 'present,' but I think she really pulled her head out of her rear and finally came to understand that Daniel really does love her, and why he loves her. She even discovered that Daniel's curse was even worse than her own.
Not only the storyline itself, but the pacing of Passion kept me interested. Fallen and Torment were both so sloooow, but I never felt that way about Passion. I also liked being able to see things not only from Luce's perspective, but also from Daniel's.
Passion is easily the best book of the series. I can only hope that Rapture doesn't disappoint.
